Demi Lovato has back-to-back wins to celebrate.
For one, the Sorry Not Sorry singer, who’s been incredibly open about her struggle with drug addiction, is coming up on 5 and a half years of sobriety! The milestone follows the release of her 6th studio album, Tell Me You Love Me. And now, in her “journey to discover what it’s like to be free of all demons,” the 25-year-old star has decided to share that process with her fans, in her upcoming Youtube documentary, Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated.
On Tuesday, Lovato released the trailer to her “revealing look” at the obstacles she has overcome, and the experiences that have made her the superstar she is today. The trailer shows snippets of childhood and behind-the-scenes footage, emotional testimonials from family, friends, and herself. Longtime friend and fellow Disney star Nick Jonas make an appearance in the trailer, along with her personal development coach Mike Bayer, who says she “was on a road to like suicide.” During the time in her life where everything seemed to be going downhill, the trailer mentions an incident where Demi punched one of her backup dancers.
Basically, we’re expecting to see the good, the bad, and the ugly in Demi’s new tell-all documentary and the day couldn't come any sooner! Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated is set to debut October 17 exclusively on Youtube. Check out the trailer below:
